Back to Business

It feels really good to be back to my daily activities.

Spending 3 weeks in France was really fun but believe it or not, it was hard for me to relax at first as I was too eager to come back. Crazy you might say, but writting is my raison de vivre so it was very hard to step away from it for 3 long weeks, I actually cheated a couple of times and used my iPod Touch to compensate.

Now don't get me wrong, I did enjoy my time away. It was lots of fun and Fashionably inspiring. Eating tasty food, seeing style conscious people everyday, checking hot boutiques in the streets of Cannes, was all pure pleasure.
During one of my shopping spree at the Lapardieu mall in Downtown Lyon, I took some interesting snap shots of Avant-Garde Couture Creations designed by locals Createurs at an artistic contest, they were displayed in the Galleries Lafayette - the concept was to use a painting or picture as a source of inpiration to create a piece of clothing.

The results are just astonishing.

The vibrant colours from the African painting have been faithfully reproduced by the artist in this spectacular dress. Every single detail is so meticulously put together, to give us pure wearable Art!!!

This creative approach reminds me of the structural shapes and romantics flowers used in Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2008 Collections. Chapeau! I would definitely wear it...to a Special occasion.

Take a shot of dancing light in a dark room Et voila! The artist used the shot of lights to create a rather Dark, strick yet chic dress. A sense of mystery and sex appeal exudes from it. Quite Alexander MCQueen in a very subtle way.

I like the unique shape of the colar and sleeves, a true style statement. I am sure that any fierce soul out there wouldn't mind spicing up their fall wardrobe with such a stunning piece.

These two numbers were my favourites, but there were many others splendid ones; not to mention the street styles and effortless parisian chic I encountered everyday during my vacations, that's a whole other story to come. So stay tuned!
Ciao for now.
