Is that you Anna?

When it comes to Fashion and renown brands, you can count on Montreal to take it to new heights, and yesterday afternoon was no exception.

On my way to a french stand up comedy act, in the subway - Guy Concordia - I stumbled upon this woman, wearing a hat and huge sunglasses, nonchalantly holding a bag in her hands.

She stood there against the wall, waiting for the metro, looking rather familiar. I wondered why she'd caught my attention in the first place.

I wasn't seating front row, at one exclusive Fashion show in Paris or Milan, Marc Jacobs was not about to showcase one of his collections, Victoria Beckham wasn't around, and of course, Andre Leon Talley was no where to be found.

So what on earth would "Nuclear Wintour" be doing here, in this modest subway, direction Angrignon, wearing nothing short of no-name simplicity?

It didn't make much sense to me either, and although, the similar distant attitude, the pageboy bob haircut, and of course the trademark sunglasses were all au rendezvous, I came back to my senses, admitting that this woman was not Anna Wintour, what an impostor!
It would have been such a luck to "bump" into her like that, but we all know that is less likely to happen. Instead, it was a random woman, offering a shocking resemblance to the real deal.
Look alike or not, I decided to take a picture of this mysterious woman, and share it with all of you.
After all, what would Anna Wintour be doing in a subway made in Montreal? Instead, I am sure she'd rather be in her office, working on another classic Fashion spreads for Vogue - true inspiration to many - to yet again, influence the Fashion Industry in a way that only her knows how, dictating what will make it from the Runways to the Subways.

Beyond being the amazing Editor she is, she also influences Hollywood, think iconic Tyrant Miranda Priestly in "The Devil wears Prada" - a character said to be inspired by Anna herself.
She has a real understanding of what Fashion stands for, she knows her subject and maybe because I aspire to be just as great in my respective field as her, I may be starting to hallucinating and seeing her at every corner.
So, until I get to meet the real Anna Wintour, I will eagerly contemplate the Montreal subway users for another look alike, Karl Lagerfeld next maybe.
Until then, my favourite character of the anime the Incredibles Edna "E" Mode, will keep me entertained.
Judge from this Famous excerpt:
( "E" Talking about Mister Incredible old Superhero suit she had designed) ----
"This is a hobo suit, darling. You can't be seen in this. I won't allow it. Fifteen years ago, maybe, but now? Feh!" ---- Classic!
Until my next famous encounter, Tataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
