Yesterday's epi

sode was the most exciting of the season yet – Our guest-judge for the occasion was Montreal sensation and most prominent Designer of his generation,
Andy Thê-Anh, who has been offering a sexy and modern take on affordable ready-to-wear fashion. I saw his work first-hand at the last Spring L’Oreal Fashion Week and wept tears of joy, he’s that good!!!
For this challenge, Designers were paired up in teams of two, to create two looks complementary looks: one Chic for Day and one Dramatic for evening, both inspired by the L'Oreal Paris, Spring 09 Colour Story theme, with one Designer assigned to Day or Evening. The winning duo will have their designs featured in a L’Oreal Beauty spread at Shoppers Drugmart – which better come to one of the Ottawa locations!

The five teams were as follow;
Sunny & Baylor –
Brandon & Adejoke –
Christie & Jason -
Jessica & Jeff and finally
Kim & Genevieve.
Some worked better together than others, for instance Sunny & Baylor took a very cohesive approach, using the same fabrics and complementary colors while Jessica & Jeff experienced some minor personally clash which could be found in their very opposite choice of colours.

Kim & Genevieve managed the pressure pretty well and worked their differences to agree on a common them, while Brandon & Adejoke surprisingly got along, considering how different they can be. The greatest drama-team of all was definitely Christie & Jason, with Christie loosing her confidence and focus all at once, her nerves got the best of her and Jason was just not having it, I can’t blame him, he must have secretly been relieved to have won the immunity at the last challenge.
Because of his exceptional construction skills and undeniable talent, I couldn’t wait to see Sunny’s evening look. I was also looking forward to Brandon’s redemption following his Prom Dress gone bad episode. And as far as Christie’s concern, I simply contemplated a last minute miracle, hoping that she wouldn’t be such a basket case after all.
I am taking sewing classes right now and I can tell you that a beautiful garment, requires plenty of time, so this competition is by no means easy, it’s nerve-wracking, fast-paced and extreme in every way possible, so you ought to hand it to the Designers.
I was literally anxious to see what the teams would send down the runway. Would it be a flawless, cohesive, dramatic and striking show or instead a predictable, tedious, stale and boring let-down?
Find out who won the challenge and who didn’t measure up – in the next Runway Pics post!
